1966 GORDON BRUSSTAR LINDBERGH IN PARIS POSTER NUT TREE
This is a 1966 Nut Tree poster print featuring the extraordinary work of Gordon Brusstar recreating the historical event of Charles Lindbergh, his now famous Spirit of St. Louis transatlantic monoplane, and his even more famous landing in Paris on May 21, 1927.
Brusstar was born in Oakland, California on February 20, 1916 and spent most of his life in Napa, California. He died there on October 28, 1987.
Gordon Brusstar captures this chronicle in a poster print named, “Lindbergh Lands in Paris.” The print has a technical readout of the airplanes power and transportation capacity. It’s interesting to note that the single prop airplane only had a top speed of 135 miles per hour.
Print represents a series of exhibits of paintings and prints at the Nut Tree. Poster is an original from 1966 from the defunct Nut Tree in Vacaville.
ABOUT THE NUT TREE:
As part of the Nut Tree collection, this print along with all the Nut Tree posters and prints are no longer available anywhere. The Nut Tree, a huge icon today in name only, was a famous restaurant, memorabilia shopping center, and airport in Vacaville, California. The shopping center closed in January, 1996. It originally had its origin as early as 1860, and gave weary travelers welcome shade to those going back and forth to the hot Sacramento Valley. Now closed and with only the airport still in operation, these Nut Tree photo collections are very rare. At the bottom of each print, they designated each piece as part of the Nut Tree Collection. This poster/print is over 38 years old.
Print measures approximately 18 1/2 x 24.
This poster has never been displayed nor has any pinholes or tape residue. (vintage new condition)
